Barbara Avdis was recently elected chairman of the Historic Hotels of Europe’s Board of Directors. Mrs. Avdis is the founder and managing director at Yades Greek Historic Hotels, a member of the Historic Hotels of Europe.

Historic Hotels of Europe

The Historic Hotels of Europe is one of the 20 largest hotel organizations worldwide, a partnership of 18 national hotel networks across Europe, and represents 594 luxurious historic hotels with a total of 19,800 rooms.

Castles, manors, convents, palaces, monasteries, townhouses, villas and residences that have maintained their historic character are part of the umbrella organization. Each hotel reflects diversity in style and offers guests a unique experience and a flavor of their country’s traditional hospitality combined with elegant accommodation and fine cuisine.

Yades Greek Historic Hotels

With an extensive career in Hospitality Management in Europe and the U.S., Barbara Avdis settled in Greece, spotted a gap in the tourism sector for small hotels networks, combined it with the need of Greece to invest in alternative forms of tourism, and together with the need to preserve the cultural heritage of the country, created Yades Greek Historic Hotels: a unique network that brings together the luxuriously appointed historic hotels in Greece and promotes the country’s history.
